WEEKLY CLASSES for June through August:

MONDAYS:

6:15-7:15am - Yoga Core -  Core Yoga focuses on strengthening the core combining traditional yoga postures with some additional core-strengthening exercises from other traditions like Pilates.  A strong core enhances your yoga practice immeasurably and promotes healthy posture off the mat as well! Appropriate for all levels of practitioners. Taught by Kris Leslie.  Register

8:30-9:30am - Chair Yoga - Yoga mainly done while seated allows for a yoga flow without worry of compromising balance or limited mobility issues.  Chair yoga might be appropriate during recovery from injury as well.  Depending upon the mobility of participants, this class may include some standing poses or postures taken on mats.  Taught by Lori Hawkins.  (All Levels)  Register

10:00-11:15am - Yoga for Athletes - This class is designed to help the practitioner find a greater range of motion, comfort in areas of tightness, strength-building, and focus.  This class is designed for ages 12- adult. Taught by Lori Hawkins.  (All Levels) Register 

6:00-7:15pm - Yoga with Weights -  Yoga with Weights is a complete, total body workout.  You will tone, 
sculpt and lengthen every major muscle group in your body. By adding 3 or
5-pound dumbbells to specific postures, you will move deeper into each
pose.  Appropriate for all levels as options will be shown for beginners through advanced students.  Please bring your own weights to class.  Taught by Kris Leslie.  **This class begins June 18.  Register

 

TUESDAYS:

9:30-10:45am - Level 1-2 Yoga - A great class for anyone interested in challenging themselves with somewhat longer holds, sequences, and options for more complicated/advanced poses while still focusing on proper alignment and breathing.  Taught by Heidi Zalewski.   Register

2:30-4:30pm - Yogi Sprouts on June 12, 19, 26 (See Below)

5:00-6:00pm - Level 1 Yoga - With a foundation of proper form and alignment in traditional poses, students are given the opportunity to connect to the edges of their strength and flexibility and to flow with their breath through traditional and creative pose sequencing.  Taught by Nancy Nedland.  Register

6:30-7:45pm - Restorative Yoga - Calm the mind and body with this soothing Restorative Yoga class.  Restorative yoga requires each pose being held for several minutes and deeply supported by props – blankets, bolsters, and blocks.  During the class, you will be guided to mindfully and consciously notice thoughts and sensations in your body.  Students leave feeling nourished, well rested and refreshed.  Occasionally, Guided Mindfulness Meditation and essential oils are also incorporated throughout the class. No yoga or meditation experience is needed and all levels are welcome.  Taught by Linnae Rutkowski.  Register

 

WEDNESDAYS:

5:10-6:00am - Morning Flow - This 50 minute early morning class is perfect for those who desire a yoga class before the day gets started.  Plan to feel awake, refreshed, and ready to start your day after this class.  (Basic level and beyond)  Taught by Lori Hawkins.  Register

6:30-7:30am - "I'm Not Flexible"  - This is the class for you, if you've ever said something to the effect of...."I'd take yoga, but I'm just not flexible."  Join in and discover how yoga can help you gain flexibility and more comfort in your own skin.  Modifications are always made for individual needs.  Expect to NOT be the only one here who has never taken yoga before.  You're welcome.  (Beginner / Basics Level)  Taught by Lori Hawkins.  Register

9:30-10:45am - Yoga with Your Mini Yogi - Bring your 2-3 year old to class and enjoy a 45 minute yoga session together.  This class combines stretching, twisting, fun poses, and songs.  Although this is a class that does not require commitment, it helps to attend regularly so that children become familiar with the format and elements of yoga.  Taught by Lori Hawkins  Register

12:00-1:00pm - Yoga and Meditation - Begin and end this yoga class with a short, guided meditation.  This gentle class involves the whole body and also includes application of essential oils if desired.  (All Levels)  Taught by Janet Geller-Lesko.  Register

6:00-7:15pm - Basics / Level 1 Yoga - This class is for the yogi who has taken some classes and is looking to move on to the next level past basics.  New asanas (poses) will be introduced each week along with some fun sequencing.  If you are ready to go just a bit beyond basics, this class is just the thing.  Taught by Lori Hawkins.  Register 

 

THURSDAYS:

6:00-7:15pm - Vinyasa Yoga - In this class we will connect the mind and body through the breath and movement. We will prepare the body through poses and sun salutations focusing on alignment and transitions and then build on this, developing a sequence to flow through with the breath and mindful awareness.  Taught by Heidi Zalewski.  Register

9:45am-10:45am - Basics - This class will focus on the basic principles and building blocks of a sound sustainable yoga practice to improve your strength, flexibility, balance, and overall wellbeing. We will find healthy alignment in the poses allowing you to adapt poses to your particular body and abilities.  Taught by Nancy Nedland.          **This class begins June 16.  Register

-Yogi Sprouts - founded by Nancy Nedland
Yogi Sprouts is a unique yoga program that blends physical and emotional development in a fun and playful way. Holding true to the traditional yoga methods and philosophy, the children are given an opportunity to learn yoga poses and breathing techniques while being taken on an imaginative “journey of the heart”. Each class is organized according to a timely and age-appropriate theme that can reach the children on many levels.  Register

Nancy Nedland has worked with children in a variety of settings for several decades. She has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and has been teaching yoga for over a decade. She founded Yogi Sprouts in 2009 hoping to give more children and families the opportunity to share yoga in a way that truly enriches their lives. Nancy teaches children, family, adult and special needs classes at studios in the Chicago land area. ($50 for all three sessions OR $20 each separate session.....if not taking all three, the drop in rule of cash only applies for your $20 session)

 

-Candlelight Reiki Restorative Yoga with Essential Oils - Sally Gill

In this deeply nurturing 2 hour workshop students will be guided through gentle stretching to relieve tension and anxiety followed by supported postures that are deeply relaxing. Oils and Reiki Healing will be shared with students to help focus and calm while enhancing meditation. ($30)  Register
